Un élément n'a pas été mentionné : la lumière des Arbres était bien plus forte que celle du Soleil et de la Lune, et touchait vivement les Eldar qui résidaient en Aman, les bien-nommés Calaquendi.
Après environ 500 années des Arbres (ce qui équivalait donc environ à 5 000 années solaires), les Eldar touchés directement par leur lumière n'avaient pas une carnation différente de celle des Avari. Ceux-ci vivaient pourtant seulement dans la lumière des étoiles. Et le vaisseau d'Arien, comportant le fruit de Laurelin, brûla et noircit celui de Tilion ("But Tilion was wayward and uncertain in speed, and held not to his appointed path; and he sought to come near to Arien, being drawn by her splendour, though the flame of Anar scorched him, and the island of the Moon was darkened." Silm. 11).
La lumière des Arbres vivait sur le visage et dans les yeux de ceux qui les avaient contemplés : mais elle ne les noircissait pas.
