Sauf que malheureusement, de nombreux textes montrent que les Valar n'avaient pas le 'droit' de décider de ce genre de choses eux-mêmes :
- Converse of Manwë and Eru (HoME X, p.362) :
"Manwë said: '[...] For we fear to meddle with Thy Children. [...] But to use our power upon the flesh that Thou hast designed, to house the spirits of Thy Children, this seems a matter beyond our authority, even were it not beyond our skill.'"
- Aman and Mortal Men (HoME X, p.427) :
"The Valar were not only by Eru forbidden the attempt, they could not alter the nature, or 'doom' of Eru, of any of the Children [...] and the length of their lifespan."
Je n'ai pas les citations adéquates pour ce sujet précis, mais je pense que l'on devrait trouver cela dans HoME V.
