Je retrouve bien cette version dans mon édition du Hobbit de 2008 de chez HarperCollins.
En outre, le terme 'orcs' présent dans ce passage est commenté dans The Annotated Hobbit (édition de 2002, note 11 p. 188.) :
Douglas Anderson a écrit :This is the only appearance of the word orc (other than in the sword name Orcrist) original to the first edition of The Hobbit (1937). [...]
Ce qui implique qu'il n'a apparemment pas connu de modification, puisqu'il n'y a en effet pas d'indication concernant un changement dans une première édition ultérieure puis un retour dans une seconde.
