Merci à toi Kehldarin pour ces références. C'est vrai que ça cadre plus avec les description puisque Tolkien n'a jamais fait d'Imladris une ville ou une forteresse. C'est un refuge et stronghold pourrait être traduit par bastion ou retranchement plutôt.
On pourrait donc imaginer comme tu dis un siège comme celui de Turin, c'est très à propos je trouve.
