Pourtant, le Silmarillion (ch 1) donne : "In that time the Valar brought order to the seas and the lands and the mountains, [...] Aulë at the prayer of Yavanna wrought two mighty lamps for the lighting of the Middle-earth"
Il y a bien des montagnes AVANT la chute des Lampes. Or, dans le genre "ordonnées" ces 4 chaines de montagnes (bleues, rouges, grises, jaunes), offrent une belle vision de symétrie. Alors, je suis d'accord qu'il n'est pas explicitement indiqué que Tolkien a changé d'avis et que les montagnes désignées dans ce passage du Siilmarillion soient ces 4 chaines, mais il me semblait que cela avait au moins valeur de bémol aux écrits de l'Ambarkanta
