Edain Or Not Edain
#1
Les Drúedain sont-ils des Edain ou non? That is the question!

C'est suite à un débat sanguinaire (Wink) entre Lome, Menel et moi-même sur le chat que je me suis décidé à ouvrir la question aux autres. Question qui présente un réel intérêt je trouve.

Voici les citations mises en avant:
Citation : Adan (pl. Edain) was the Sindarin form of the name given to the 2018 fathers of men 2019, the members of the Three Houses of Elf-friends, whose survivors afterwards became the Númenóreans, or Dún-edain. Letters p. 282

Citation :"The Eldar called them Drúedain, admitting them to the rank of Atani" (UT/488 )

Citation :The Drúedain, as also the other Atani..." (UT/489)

Citation :"and they were called Drúedain (...) to mark both their humanity and friendship with the Eldar, and their racial difference from the people of the Three Houses of the Edain" (UT/498 )

Citation :"In Beleriand, Atan, pl Atani, was the name most used at first. But since for a long time the only Men known to the Noldor and the Sindar were those of the Three Houses of the Elf-friends, this name became specially associated with them" QE

Citation :Atani was the name given to men in Valinor, in the lore that told of their coming; according to the Eldar it signified "Second", for the kindred of Men was the second of the Children of Ilúvatar. Edain was the form of the name in Beleriand and there it was used only of the three kindreds of the first Elf-friends of Beleriand.Later QS, XI

Citation :"The Drúedain, as also the other Atani..." (UT/489)

Citation :In the annals of N 016dmenor it is said that this remnant was permitted to sail over sea with the Atani. PMe p. 398

Citation : 2018 The Edain who at the end of the War of the Jewels sailed over sea to N 016dmenor contained few remnants of the Folk of Haleth, and the very few Drùedain that accompanied them died out long before the Downfall 2019. PMe

Citation :"The presence of members of the [Drúedain] among the Edain in Beleriand" (XII/309)

J'attends vos avis, vos citations, etc...
What's the point of all this pedantry if you can't get a detail like this right?
