Étant donné la mention du parler commun, cela suggérerait au moins que les Portes de l'Est furent retravaillées au Troisième Âge en y intégrant cet éléments. En outre, on peut imaginer qu'il a fallu un certain temps avant que les cirth de Daeron soient adoptées par les Nains de la Moria pour qu'ils les utilisent sur les Portes Est, ce qui pourrait signifier soit que ces Portes n'ont pas toujours eu ces inscriptions, soit qu'elles n'ont pas été faites dès la fondation de la Moria.
