This is an odd thing. Tolkien's footnotes and my editorial endnotes have been stripped out, and the formatting of the main text is mangled. Hmm.

Indeed, the missing footnotes and endnotes were among the first things I noted while reading these pieces. If there is an electronic version of this book, I hope it won't suffer from these formatting issues.
